The Park Ridge Center explores and enhances the interaction of health, faith, and ethics through research, education and consultation to improve the lives of individuals and communities. The Center is an independent, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization affiliated with Advocate Health Care.
The Park Ridge Center site has a unique layout that is easy to navigate. Users can search the site using the search engine or choose from several sections. The Bookstore features information on books and educational programs. The links page provides links to several resources on health, ethics, and bioethics. The Publications section features an archive of the Center's journals: e-Ethics, a monthly medical ethics newsletter focusing on current and recurring ethical issues; Bulletin, a journal of religion in health care ethics; and Second Opinion, which offers critical inquiry into the ethical issues facing todays health care professionals, policymakers, and religious leaders. The Education section features links to affiliated university programs.
The copyright date on the site is 2003. Material on the site is outdated and does not appear to have been updated recently. The last issue of the Bulletin was published in January 2002. Other publications on the site also appear to have ended in 2003 or 2004.
The online bookstore is no longer available. Users may access a list of books and programs that were sold on the site. The list includes pictures of the books, along with author, publisher, date, and ISBN.
The links section provides a few relevant links, but the list is not extensive. Some of the links are outdated.
